The study – Financial Inclusion of Immigrants in the fashion chain
The study “Financial Inclusion of Immigrants in the Fashion Chain” sought to understand the relationship of Bolivian immigrants in the textile chain with financial instruments and services.
We carried out a qualitative research and ethnographies with seamstresses and workshop owners in São Paulo who had attended the course Weaving Dreams, from Aliança Empreendedora.
Results
We identified that the financial organization capacity, within the uncertainties of seamstresses and workshop owners, depends on 6 factors:
- Financial responsibility
- Behavioral profile
- Age group
- Previous professional experience
- Relationship with customers (or with boss)
- Support of contact networks
The study also made it possible to identify the main barriers to access and banking formalization for immigrants, many of whom are unbanked. The research also found the opportunities that exist for the inclusion and financial formalization of the fashion production chain.
